31 Day Gratitude Challenge

Happy New Year 2025!

It seems that I cannot resist a challenge!

So, here I am, albeit late to the game, but feeling the urge to participate in the Ultimate Blog Challenge for another round.

For the past couple challenges, I’ve joined in half-heartedly, and dropped off as life took me on other paths. I cannot control that, but I can strive to do my best and be ok with that.

My Personal Gratitude Challenge

This month, I am focusing on small steps to improve my outlook. Call it a New Year’s resolution, or just staking out a goal, I just desire to change my mindset a little.

It is so good for us to count our blessings, to focus on the positive, and especially to take the time to voice and record our thanksgivings. I often struggle with overwhelmed feelings, and do find that noticing good things really changes my attitude.

Why, then, do I not express my gratitude more? I have no idea. Mostly forgetfulness. So, when deciding to join the Blog Challenge this month, I decided to give myself a gratitude challenge as well.

This gratitude challenge will be simple. Maybe even painfully so.

I have one rule: voice one new thing that I’m grateful for from my day. Recorded it here, and that’s it.

Here goes:

Day 1 Gratitude Challenge:

• I am grateful for heavy equipment.

We have many property projects that continuously occupy the To Do List. Today and yesterday, a couple of major projects got accelerated when my husband and son brought home the mini excavator and mini skid steer.

Heavy equipment working in dirt

Piles of dirt disappeared, trees ripped out of the ground, and one big milestone happened when our camper rolled down the road today.

We lived in that camper for 5 1/2 years, and while it served us when we needed it, everyone was glad to see it go. It represents moving on, a new chapter opened, and that other chapter closed.

Bye bye!

God has been with us during our whole journey. We know that. St some point you have to cross the Jordan and step into a new life, and getting the camper out is as much symbolic as it is a physical milestone.

That’s all for today.

I shared on our YouTube channel yesterday another goal we reached within the last week.

It’s not too late to wish you a Happy New Year again!

Join me if you’d like with your own gratitude challenge. It doesn’t have to be official.

Until next time, let’s keep counting our blessings!

    1. Hello, I like the idea of a gratitude challenge and will be asking my family to do it with me. As for this challenge I started and stopped a lot last year but I plan on finishing this year. Have a happy New Year and thank you for being here.

  1. I appreciate the country living and Heavy equipment. Although I live in a suburb now, I was thrilled to watch the work on repaving our street and more recently adding fibre-optic cables underground. The biggest “heavy equipment” I owned was a Craftsman riding mower with a snow blower attachment. One time my father-in-law brought his Bobcat from his barn to move a few loads of topsoil when we started our vegetable garden.

What is your experience? 💜 I read every comment, and so many times I find that I gain encouragement from what’s shared. ❤️
