Welcome to the Sunday Sunshine Blog Hop!
❄️☃️❄️⛄️❄️☃️
Happy week!
Remember last week when I said we were gearing up for cold weather? It came and stayed! Like all week, and it’s still way cold!
Woke up to zero degrees this morning, and boy, did that cause fun with our off grid homestead!
We got eight or so inches of snow, freezing rain, then a little more snow. It’s beautiful!
Snow on solar panels provided some big challenges. Frozen water lines–more of those challenges.
We’ve got a lot going on. Between health issues in the family, really continuing to hit it hard on the home build, plus the new cold-weather issues coming up, we’ve stayed super busy.
I’ve not left our homestead all week–our driveway is ice, and I don’t relish driving on that. But we did take a nice walk out on the property yesterday, which was invigorating! On my face! Brr!
To be completely honest, this blog has taken a backseat. I fully plan to throw myself back into it more fully once we get this home completed, but for now, I can only make my brain go in so many different directions.
With every new project, we basically have to research it enough to be semi-expert novices, then we have to research what supplies to purchase, where to buy them, and then get them here. After that, we get to dive in, make our many mistakes, and readjust. All of that just drains the brain.
Life will not be all sunshine and rainbows when we finish this house, but we will be able to redirect some of that brain energy towards other areas. Right now, honestly, I’m treading water.
So if you think I’ve checked out on the blog, I have temporarily. Blogging takes time and energy, but most of all, it takes mental quietness. That last element is what I’ve been in short supply of.
Enjoy a couple pics from around our homestead this week. Notice the absence of any cats, lol!

Features for this week!
This first feature intrigued me so much. First, I’d never heard of them, then, reading over the recipe, I became more curious.
And this feature is a good read for all of us in relationships–that would be all of us, right?
Oh…before I go…
Here’s a couple links to what we’ve been up to on our homestead this week!
Have a great week!
We’ve been having the snow and cold here, too. Minus 6 this morning – Ugh! How many days until Spring??
I can only imagine how tough it has been for you and your family lately but Kudos to you all for sticking it out so you can live the life you dream of…. BRAVO! Understand completely about your time constraints and that you need to do what you need to do for your family….
With that being said, thanks so much for hosting this lovely party!! I really appreciate the time and effort that goes into it!! Try to stay warm!!
Hugs,
