The Lord is My Shepherd

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

I’m so glad that I have Someone who has promised to lead me along, and the promise of a better land.

Isaiah 40:11

“He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.”

King James Version (KJV)

I’m sure you, as I am, are familiar with the words from the Bible’s most well-known psalm. It’s easy for it to become rote. In times of need, however, the familiar words can become a balm to your weary soul, and being comfort like no other words can.

Take a minute to remember God’s words to your heart.

He has comfort for you

He loves you.

It’s good to be a lamb in the arms of our Good Shepherd.

And for me, it’s good to remember Who is leading.

Have a peaceful day.

Laurie
