Homestead Happenings

Apples!

We picked up more apples yesterday from Pennsylvania. The first order made yummy applesauce, and these I have no plan for.

I got a bushel each of

  • Honey crisp
  • Fuji
  • Crimson crisp
Wow!I grabbed one of the Crimson Crisp apples on my way back last night. Then another one.

I believe I’ve found a new favorite!

You can see my thoughts on the first batch of apples on the little video I made about that, lol!

So the Crimson Crisp seem perfect for just eating.

Thats what I was looking for in the last batch, but they were softer apples, which made good sauce. I’ll be giving the Fuji and Honeycrisp a taste soon, but for now I’m enjoying the Crimson Crisp apples.

Until we get freezing temperatures, I plan to store these out on our covered porch. Hope they last!

If you want to find out two dips that I like to eat my apples with, see

Both are wonderful this time of year with those crunchy, sweet apples!

What would you do with three bushels of delicious apples?

  1. Thank so much for featuring my Haunted Houses Tablescape! I added a link to your blog at the end of that post.

    1. Sure now you have me drooling over the delicious apples! Nothing better than a crisp fall apple and I hope to bring some home when we go to the mountains next week. What would I do with them? Make apple crisp, apple sauce and dehydrate some of them while eating a fresh apple every day!

  2. That hummus sounds delicious! Glad you are enjoying your apples. I can’t imagine what I would do with even one bushel, let alone three.

  3. Thank you very much for hosting Laurie, much appreciated.
