Some days…

There are days when life just seems overwhelming.

As a mom, daughter, wife, homesteader, homemaker, home builder, off gridder, cat mom, and gardener, writer, employee of Greg’s business, YouTuber, blogger…well, you could see how that list alone is a recipe for something boiling over.

Also, menopauser, which is just the icing on the cake that’s trying to stay balanced, but keeps swaying this way and that. It’s a lot some days.

Do you know how I get through these days?

By trying to find ways to control everything that cannot be controlled. By feeling like it’s all been dumped on me, and I have to unwind the tangled yarn mess.

That’s what I do. A recipe for overwhelm.

So…the best way to deal with that is to check out. Find a distraction. I’m good at that. But the stuff is there when I’m done, and I’m reminded that I’ve wasted more time.

In this mess, when I must go full throttle all day every day, I don’t feel like I can pause. No time for that. Not to rest, not to deal with the things on the table, just keep going.

So there’s a balance. One I’ve yet to achieve.

Somewhere between hitting it hard and hitting the pillow, there is balance help.

Balance may be a myth in our time, but learning to take time to rest is not a myth. It’s a must.

I’ve seen this very week how God sends help. I don’t know how, but He’s shown at least in three different instances how He has an answer of peace in the chaos. The people didn’t even know of their impact, but God led them.

I’m seeking God today. He is good. He cares.

He will help me in everything that’s in my control, and with that which is not.

He will do it for you too.
