Welcome to the Homestead Blog Hop!

Hello, Bloggers and Reader Friends,

The weather has taken a sharp turn towards Autumn, and it feels wonderful, if not a little nippy in the morning!

Our town has mostly restored water to everyone, and they are coming up with some plans for restoring bridges and roads.

There has been massive amounts of donations and efforts to get supplies into the hands of those needing basic items.

It seems like the town and country people have at least been served with things like drinking water, basic household items, and preliminary supplies. Now begins the ongoing task of shoveling out the muck, assessing damage, and trying to make it through this disaster.

Outlying communities, our neighbors beyond, like up in the mountains—that’s been tougher. I have a friend whole been using his private plane to shuttle supplies to hard-to-reach people, and he’s stayed very busy.

We had the 101st Airborne Regiment descend yesterday, and it looked like many huge helicopters came. Each one can carry ten tons of supplies, which is a massive help. There are many people in inaccessible locations that need help.

Immediate help is happening. Ongoing help will be needed, and sometimes that is an overwhelming thought to me.

With the colder weather, worry about people. I’m looking for coats and blankets I can get ahold of to send. I hate feeling cold, and don’t want others to suffer.

With Hurricane Milton swirling, it’s not looking good for the South. Seems to be disaster heaped upon disaster.

Let’s pray for the safety of our neighbors to the South, and keep praying for the recovery locally.

I hope your day is filled with peace.

Laurie
