Welcome to the Homestead Blog Hop!
Here’s a laugh or you’ll cry moment from today at our homestead.
Our guys had the day off for rain. I thought of several useful projects for them (I’m helpful that way).
I normally take care of the cat litter box, because all of the guys are working elsewhere. With a huge to-do list, and a couple of guys with nothing to do, I asked one son to empty the litter box before he left, and fill it with fresh litter.
He got the first part, dumping it and leaving.
Well…that didn’t work out so well with all of these cats. Naturally, they had to go, and we found a couple of steamy surprises in the shower.
My husband cleaned it up, and said that the cats had no reason to make piles around, since he had cleaned out the cat litter box today, and adding a bunch of fresh litter.
“Say, What?”
This is where I shook my head for several minutes straight and groaned.

Never in all my years can I remember someone emptying the cat littler box without me telling them to. Never can I remember my husband doing that, although he probably has before.
I may laugh someday, but I’m afraid I’m still crying. The brand new litter got dumped right down the hill, and what a waste of money! We won’t even belabor the fact that you might ask a question or two about nice fresh cat litter if you’d been told to dump it.
Oh, well.
Nothing to do about it except hope we don’t repeat that!
With that little account—you may find that your day is going better than ours went at that moment.
Either way, hope it’s great!
Laurie
