Birds of Spring

We heard our first hummingbird today! This prompted me to haul out the hummingbird feeders and disinfect them. They’ll be hanging out tomorrow!

And tonight it sounded like monkeys out in our woods I’m guessing I was listening to the sound of a pair of barred owls . I’m going to try to identify which bird would make that chattery sound. It’s kind of unnerving.

The nuthatches have made a nest in a hole in one of our trees, and it’s fun to see one peeking its head out when the parent bird comes with food. They seem like they’re about ready to fledge. I like the nuthatches and enjoy seeing them hope down the trees with their heads down!

I hope you are enjoying some wildlife this Spring too! Birds and wild animals just make life more interesting!
